Thailand Open: Galfi beats Wang to reach last eight

Hungarian qualifier Dalma Galfi reached the last 8 of the Thailand Open by edging out Chinese Xiyu Wang, the No 5 seed, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 at the True Arena Hua Hin.
Galfi, ranked No 137, will play the winner of the match between Russian Diana Shnaider and Spaniard Paula Badosa next.
Ahead of her victory, the Hungarian beat Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic (6-3, 6-0).
Wang, ranked No 63, won against Qiang Wang (6-1, 6-1) in the previous round of the Hua Hin tournament.
