Dutch qualifier Arianne Hartono won against Chinese qualifier Xinyu Gao 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 to reach the last eight of the Thailand Open 2 on Thursday evening.
Hartono, ranked No 180, will face Japanese Mai Hontama next.
Ahead of her victory, the Dutchwoman defeated Japanese Moyuka Uchijima, the No 7 seed (6-1, 6-1).
Gao, ranked No 185, won against qualifier Sijia Wei (6-3, 6-2) in the previous round.
