Chinese Lin Zhu defeated Austrian Julia Grabher 6-4, 6-1 to reach the last 8 of the Tennis in the Land at Cleveland’s iconic Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in Flats West Bank on Tuesday evening.
Zhu, ranked No 48, will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the top seed, and American Peyton Stearns next.
The Chinese won against Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 8 seed (6-0, 6-3) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Grabher, ranked No 54, beat Chinese qualifier Xiyu Wang (6-3, 6-4).
