Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich, the No 7 seed, beat Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Tennis in the Land at Cleveland’s iconic Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in Flats West Bank on Tuesday evening.
Sasnovich, ranked No 36, will play the winner of the match between American Madison Brengle and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 3 seed, next.
The Belarusian won against Serb Aleksandra Krunic (7-6 (5), 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Sorribes Tormo, ranked No 46, won against Colombian Camila Osorio (7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-3).
