Magda Linette beat Sorana Cirstea 6-4, 6-2 on Wednesday night and will face the winner of the match between German qualifier Laura Siegemund and Russian Liudmila Samsonova in the next round
Pole Magda Linette advanced to the quarter-finals of the Tennis in the Land by winning against Romanian Sorana Cirstea 6-4, 6-2 at Cleveland’s iconic Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in Flats West Bank on Wednesday night.
Linette, ranked No 67, will play the winner of the match between German qualifier Laura Siegemund and Russian Liudmila Samsonova next.
The Pole defeated Kazakh Yulia Putintseva (6-4, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Cirstea, ranked No 38, beat Mexican lucky loser Marcela Zacarias (6-2, 6-3).
