Tampico Open: Bektas beats Tomljanovic to reach last eight, plays Dolehide next
The American edged out Ajla Tomljanovic 6-7 (2), 6-4, 7-5 in the second round on Thursday

American Emina Bektas, the No 6 seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Tampico Open by edging out Australian Ajla Tomljanovic 6-7 (2), 6-4, 7-5 at the Centro Libanés Mexicano de Tampico on Thursday.
Bektas, ranked No 104, will play fellow American Caroline Dolehide, the top seed, next.
Bektas won against Mexican Renata Zarazua (6-2, 6-4) in the previous round of the Tampico tournament while Ajla Tomljanovic had defeated American Whitney Osuigwe (7-5, 6-2).
