Croat Donna Vekic beat Chinese Shuai Zhang, the No 8 seed, 6-2, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the Tallinn Open at the Forus Tennis Centre on Thursday.
Vekic, ranked No 85, will face Swiss Belinda Bencic, the second seed, next.
The Croat won against Estonian wildcard Maileen Nuudi (6-2, 6-0) ahead of her victory. Zhang, ranked No 26, defeated Slovak qualifier Viktoria Kuzmova (7-6 (4), 7-6 (8)).
