Czech wildcard Karolina Muchova reached her first quarter-final of 2022 as she beat Swiss qualifier Viktorija Golubic 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 at the Tallinn Open on Wednesday.
Former top 20 player Muchova, now ranked No 224 after missing six months due to back and abdominal injuries, beat French qualifier Jessika Ponchet (6-0, 6-2).
It’s Muchova first quarter-final on Tour since she reached the last eight at Wimbledon in 2021, having recently battled a wrist injury.
Golubic, ranked No 89, won against American Madison Keys, the No 4 seed (6-3, 6-2) in the previous round.
