Top seed Kontaveit survives slow start and late wobble to reach second round in Tallinn

Top seed Anett Kontaveit gave her home crowd a scare on Tuesday before recovering well to beat Chinese Xiyu Wang 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 to reach the second round of the Tallinn Open.

The world No 4 also led 5-2 in the third and had two match points only to be pegged back to 5-5 before finally getting over the line.

The Estonian will take on Czech Tereza Martincova next.
