Estonian Kaia Kanepi defeated American Ann Li 7-5, 7-5 to move into the quarter-finals of the Tallinn Open at the Forus Tennis Centre on Thursday.
Kanepi, ranked No 32, will face Czech wildcard Karolina Muchova next.
In the previous round, the 37-year-old Estonian won against Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 5 seed (4-6, 6-4, 6-0).
Li, ranked No 62, won against Claire Liu (6-2, 7-5) in the previous round.
