Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, beat American Danielle Collins 6-3, 6-0 to move into the third round of the Indian Wells at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday night.
Swiatek, ranked No 1, will play the winner of the match between Italian Camila Giorgi and No 26 seed Linda Noskova next.
Collins, ranked No 56, won against Russian qualifier Erika Andreeva (7-6 (3), 7-6 (6)) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
