Swiatek extends lead at top; Navarro, Kostyuk, Yuan hit career highs – WTA rankings update
The Pole is now more than 2,500 points clear of Aryna Sabalenka at the top after her Indian Wells title
Not only did Iga Swiatek show why she’s the No 1 player in the world when she won the Indian Wells title for the second time in three years, she also extended her lead at the top of the world rankings.
The Pole added 610 points to her tally to stand on 10,705 points. Already well clear at the top, her lead over Aryna Sabalenka in the No 2 spot is now more than 2,500 points after the Belarusian fell early in Indian Wells.
Qinwen Zheng is back up to No 7 – equalling her career high – while Emma Navarro, who knocked out Sabalenka on the way to the quarters in Indian Wells, is into the top 20 for the first time, in 20th.

Kostyuk into top 20, Wozniacki on the way up
Marta Kostyuk hits a new career-high, in 26th, after making the semis in Indian Wells, while quarter-finalist Yuan Yue is into the top 40 for the first time, up 12 to 37.
Furhter down, there is a significant move for Caroline Wozniacki, the former world No 1 climbing 75 places to No 129 after making the quarter-finals in Indian Wells. Another former world No 1, Naomi Osaka, is also on the move, up 58 places to No 229 as she, too, continues her comeback.
