Stuttgart Open: Paolini knocks out Jabeur in second round
Jasmine Paolini defeated Ons Jabeur 7-6 (8), 6-4 on Thursday afternoon and will face Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, in the next round

Italian Jasmine Paolini moved into the quarter-finals of the Stuttgart Open by winning against Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 7 seed, 7-6 (8), 6-4 at the Porsche-Arena on Thursday afternoon.
Paolini, ranked No 14, will play Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, next.
The Italian defeated qualifier Sara Errani (6-1, 6-0) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Stuttgart tournament, Jabeur, ranked No 9, edged out Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (1)).
