Singapore Open: Wang eases past Joint to make last eight

Chinese Xinyu Wang, the No 4 seed, won against Australian qualifier Maya Joint 6-4, 6-2 to move into the last eight of the Singapore Open at the Kallang Tennis Hub.

Wang, ranked No 35, will face the winner of the match between Australian Olivia Gadecki and Swiss qualifier Jil Teichmann next.

Ahead of her victory, the Chinese edged out Canadian Rebecca Marino (6-4, 5-7, 7-5).

Joint, ranked No 109, edged out American Alycia Parks (4-6, 6-1, 7-5) in the previous round of the Singapore Open 2025.
