Singapore Open: Li reaches final as top-seed Kalinskaya forced to retire with injury

American Ann Li reached the final of the Singapore Open when Russian Anna Kalinskaya, the top seed, retired at the Kallang Tennis Hub.
Li, ranked No 85, led 7-6 (2), 1-0 when Kalinskaya, ranked No 18, pulled out at the Kallang Tennis Hub on Saturday night.
The American will play the winner of the match between Chinese Xinyu Wang, the No 4 seed, and Belgian Elise Mertens, the second seed, next.
In the previous rounds of the Singapore Open 2025, Ann Li won against Australian Daria Saville (6-3, 6-1), Russian lucky loser Maria Timofeeva (6-3, 6-2) and Australian wildcard Kimberly Birrell (7-6 (2), 7-6 (4)).
The Russian defeated American Caroline Dolehide (6-4, 4-6, 6-2), Swiss qualifier Simona Waltert (6-2, 7-6 (3)) and Thai qualifier Mananchaya Sawangkaew (6-3, 4-6, 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
