Former world No 1 Simona Halep will return to the WTA Tour in Hong Kong next week, her first outing since May because of a knee injury.
The Romanian has struggled for full fitness ever since she came back in March after her ban for failing a drugs test was reduced from four years to nine months.
Halep will play Arina Rodionova of Australia in her opening match at the WTA125 event, making an earlier than expected return. The 33-year-old received a wildcard into the tournament, which begins on Monday.
