Seoul Open: Maria books spot in semi-finals, dimantling Lin Zhu

German Tatjana Maria, the No 7 seed, beat Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 4 seed, 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the semi-finals of the Seoul Open at the Seoul Olympic Park on Friday night.
Maria, ranked No 80, will face Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the second seed, next.
In the previous rounds of the Hana Bank Korea Open, the 35-year-old German won against Canadian Eugenie Bouchard (7-6 (5), 7-6 (5)) and Australian Kimberly Birrell (6-0, 6-3).
Zhu, ranked No 70, won against Su Jeong Jang (6-3, 6-4) and Indian qualifier Ankita Raina (6-1, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
