San Luis Potosi Open: Zidansek advances to last eight

Slovenian Tamara Zidansek moved into the quarter-finals of the San Luis Potosi Open by defeating Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 5 seed, 7-6 (3), 6-3 on Wednesday night.
Zidansek, ranked No 112, will play the winner of the match between Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the top seed, and Argentinian Nadia Podoroska next.
In the previous round, the Slovenian won against Mexican wildcard Ana Sofia Sanchez (6-3, 6-4).
Rakhimova, ranked No 92, won against Hungarian Reka Luca Jani (3-6, 7-5, 6-2) during the 32.
