American Hailey Baptiste, the No 6 seed, advanced to the second round of the San Luis Potosi Open by beating Mexican wildcard Maria Fernanda Navarro Oliva 6-4, 6-1 at the Club Deportivo Potosino on Monday.
Baptiste, ranked No 96, will face fellow American Robin Montgomery next.
