San Luis Potosi Open: Riera books spot in semi-finals
Julia Riera won against Suzan Lamens 6-4, 6-4 on Friday evening and will play Francesca Jones in the next round
Argentinian Julia Riera won against Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens 6-4, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the San Luis Potosi Open at the Club Deportivo Potosino on Friday evening.
Riera, ranked No 119, will face Francesca Jones next.
Ahead of her victory, the 21-year-old Argentinian defeated Italian qualifier Nuria Brancaccio (6-4, 6-3) and Romanian qualifier Anca Alexia Todoni (6-2, 6-1).
Lamens, ranked No 156, beat Mexican qualifier Jessica Hinojosa Gomez (6-4, 6-3) and Linda Fruhvirtova (2-6, 6-0, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
