Brazilian Laura Pigossi moved into the last eight of the San Luis Potosi Open by edging out Chinese qualifier Xiaodi You 5-7, 6-2, 7-5 at the Club Deportivo Potosino.
Pigossi, ranked No 116, will play the winner of the match between Slovenian Tamara Zidansek and Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the second seed, next.
The Brazilian defeated Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic (7-5, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the San Luis Potosi tournament, You, ranked No 224, benefited from the abandonment of Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 7 seed (6-4, 4-2).
