German Tatjana Maria, the second seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the San Luis Potosi Open by defeating Mexican wildcard Maria Fernanda Navarro Oliva 6-0, 6-2 on Friday night.
Maria, ranked No 65, will play Italian Sara Errani, the No 7 seed, next.
The 35-year-old German won against Eva Lys (6-2, 6-0) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Maria Fernanda Navarro Oliva won against Swiss Conny Perrin (7-6 (3), 6-1).
