Italian Sara Errani, the No 7 seed, moved into the last four of the San Luis Potosi Open by beating German Tatjana Maria, the second seed, 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday night.
Errani, ranked No 99, will face Slovenian Kaja Juvan next.
In the previous rounds, the 35-year-old Italian won against Swiss Ylena In-Albon (6-3, 6-2) and Spaniard Aliona Bolsova (6-2, 6-2).
Maria, ranked No 65, defeated Eva Lys (6-2, 6-0) and Mexican wildcard Maria Fernanda Navarro Oliva (6-0, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
