Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the top seed, reached the last 16 of the San Luis Potosi Open by defeating Mexican Marcela Zacarias 6-3, 6-0 on Wednesday night.

Cocciaretto, ranked No 49, will play Nadia Podoroska next.
