Pegula beats Keys to set up Swiatek clash in San Diego
Jessica Pegula beat Madison Keys 6-4, 7-5 on Friday and will next aim to beat top-ranked Iga Swiatek for the first time in four meetings this year
Fourth seed Jessica Pegula overcame a tough challenge from fellow American Madison Keys to move into the semi-finals of the San Diego Open at the Barnes Tennis Centre on Friday.
Pegula, who has already qualified for the season-ending WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas after her best season as a pro, came from 2-4 down in the second set to win 6-4, 7-5 in one hour and 33 minutes.
This was the first clash between the two American women, who will be teammates at the ITF Billie Jean King Cup next month in Glasgow.
Pegula aiming for revenge against Swiatek next

The American has one win against Swiatek, which came in 2019 at the Citi Open in Washington, DC.
