Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, the No 4 seed, beat Chinese Xinyu Wang 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2 to move into the last eight of the San Diego Open at the Barnes Tennis Center on Thursday.
The Russian came from 6-4, 4-0 down in the match to fight back and win 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2.
Pavlyuchenkova, ranked No 25, will face Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 6 seed, next.
Wang, ranked No 41, won against Dane Clara Tauson (6-2, 2-6, 6-1) in the previous round of the San Diego tournament.
