San Diego Open: Boulter continues hot run, blasts into semi-finals

Katie Boulter moved into the last four of the San Diego Open by defeating Croat Donna Vekic, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 6-3 at the Barnes Tennis Center on Friday evening.
Boulter, ranked No 49, will play the winner of the match between Australian qualifier Daria Saville and American Emma Navarro, the No 3 seed, next.
Katie Boulter won against Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko (6-3, 6-1) and edged out Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the second seed (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the San Diego tournament, Vekic, ranked No 28, won against American wildcard Katherine Hui (7-5, 6-2) and Canadian qualifier Marina Stakusic (6-4, 3-6, 6-3).
