Zanevska sets up Rouen final against Golubic
Maryna Zanevska defeated Kamilla Rakhimova 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-1 on Saturday evening and will face Swiss Viktorija Golubic, the No 5 seed, for the title
Belgian Maryna Zanevska, the No 7 seed, beat Russian Kamilla Rakhimova 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-1 to move into the final of the Rouen Open at Kindarena on Saturday evening.
Zanevska, ranked No 85, will face Swiss Viktorija Golubic, the No 5 seed, next.
Rakhimova led by a set and 6-5 but could not close the match out and Zanevska hit back, cruising through the third to move within one win of her second WTA Tour title.
Ahead of her victory, the Belgian beat Italian Sara Errani (7-5, 6-7 (4), 7-5), French wildcard Elsa Jacquemot (7-6 (9), 6-4) and American qualifier Catherine McNally (7-5, 2-6, 6-3).
Rakhimova, ranked No 121, won against Anna Blinkova (7-6 (4), 6-1), Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet (7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-4) and French wildcard Kristina Mladenovic (6-1, 6-4) in the previous rounds.
