Rouen Open: Stephens wins the final

American Sloane Stephens, the No 6 seed, won the Rouen Open trophy by beating Pole Magda Linette 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 at the Kindarena on Sunday afternoon.
Stephens, ranked No 39, defeated Peyton Stearns (1-6, 6-1, 6-3), Karolina Pliskova (6-3, 6-2), Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 4 seed (6-2, 6-2) and Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the second seed (6-3, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Rouen tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Linette, ranked No 60, defeated French wildcard Elsa Jacquemot (7-5, 6-1), Serb qualifier Natalija Stevanovic (6-2, 6-1), Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus (7-6 (9), 6-1) and Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 3 seed (6-1, 4-6, 6-2).
