Rouen Open: Ruse upsets Burel to reach quarters; faces Garcia next

Romanian qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse won against Frenchwoman Clara Burel, the No 7 seed, 6-0, 2-6, 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Rouen Open at the Kindarena on Thursday.
Ruse, ranked No 162, will face Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the second seed, next.
In the previous round of the Rouen tournament, the Romanian beat Japanese Nao Hibino (6-2, 6-1).
Burel, ranked No 44, defeated Ukrainian qualifier Katarina Zavatska (3-6, 6-3, 6-2) earlier in the week.
