Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 5 seed, edged out Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz 1-6, 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the last 4 of the Rouen Open at Palais des sports de Rouen on Friday evening.
Cornet, ranked No 121, will face Russian qualifier Erika Andreeva next.
The 33-year-old Frenchman edged out Jessika Ponchet (7-5, 3-6, 6-4) and beat Hungarian Dalma Galfi (6-4, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Rouen tournament, Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 132, won against Australian qualifier Astra Sharma (6-4, 6-3) and Marina Bassols Ribera (7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-2).
