Rouen Open: Cornet beats Galfi to make the quarter-finals

Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 5 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Rouen Open by winning against Hungarian Dalma Galfi 6-4, 6-3 at Palais des sports de Rouen.

Cornet, ranked No 121, will face Nuria Parrizas Diaz next.

In the previous round of the Rouen tournament, the 33-year-old Frenchman edged out Jessika Ponchet (7-5, 3-6, 6-4).

Galfi, ranked No 149, edged out Estonian Kaia Kanepi (6-7 (7), 6-1, 6-4) in the previous round of the Rouen tournament.
