Rakhimova wins marathon in Bogota to make quarter-finals
Kamilla Rakhimova won against Renata Zarazua 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 6-3 on Wednesday evening. She’ll face the winner of the match between Spaniard Cristina Bucsa, the No 4 seed, and German Jule Niemeier in the next round
Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 8 seed, won against Mexican Renata Zarazua 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 6-3 to move into the last eight of the Bogota Open at the Country Club Bogota on Wednesday evening.
Rakhimova, ranked No 92, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Cristina Bucsa, the No 4 seed, and German Jule Niemeier next.
Ahead of her victory, the 22-year-old Russian beat Colombian wildcard Valentina Mediorreal Arias (6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-1).
Zarazua, ranked No 103, defeated Colombian wildcard Mariana Isabel Higuita Barraza (6-0, 6-0) in the previous round of the Bogota tournament.
