Rabat Open: Carle upsets Rus to reach second round
Maria Lourdes Carle defeated Arantxa Rus 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday and will play the winner of the match between Moroccan wildcard Aya El Aouni and Egyptian Mayar Sherif in the next round
Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle beat Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 5 seed, 6-3, 6-3 to move into the last 16 of the Rabat Open at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc on Tuesday.
Carle, ranked No 83, will face the winner of the match between Moroccan wildcard Aya El Aouni and Egyptian Mayar Sherif next.
