Chinese Xinyu Wang moved into the second round of the Qatar Open by winning against Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 10 seed, 6-1, 6-3 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Monday evening.
Wang, ranked No 41, will play Belarusian Victoria Azarenka next.
