Qatar Open: Parks upsets 11th seed Shnaider in first round
Alycia Parks won against Diana Shnaider 6-4, 7-6 (2) on Sunday and will play the winner of the match between Ashlyn Krueger and wildcard Sofia Kenin in the next round

American qualifier Alycia Parks advanced to the second round of the Qatar Open by winning against Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 11 seed, 6-4, 7-6 (2) at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Sunday.
Parks, ranked No 90, will face the winner of the match between Ashlyn Krueger and wildcard Sofia Kenin next.
