Qatar Open: Noskova loses to Pliskova in Doha
Karolina Pliskova defeated Linda Noskova 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon and will face Japanese Naomi Osaka in the next round
Karolina Pliskova won against Linda Noskova 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.
Pliskova, ranked No 59, will play Japanese Naomi Osaka next.
In the previous rounds of the Qatar tournament, Karolina Pliskova edged out Russian wildcard Anna Kalinskaya (2-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4) and Russian Anastasia Potapova (6-1, 5-7, 6-4).
Noskova, ranked No 28, defeated American qualifier Bernarda Pera (6-3, 7-6 (8)) and edged out Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 7 seed (3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
