Qatar Open: Collins dispatches Bouzkova, moves into last 16

American qualifier Danielle Collins beat Marie Bouzkova 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the last 16 of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.

Collins, ranked No 63, will play the winner of the match between Katerina Siniakova and American Coco Gauff, the second seed, next.

The American defeated Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 13 seed (7-5, 6-3) ahead of her victory.

In the previous round of the Qatar tournament, Bouzkova, ranked No 35, edged out American Sofia Kenin (7-5, 2-6, 7-5).
