Qatar Open: Anisimova ousts Badosa to reach last 16

American Amanda Anisimova beat Spaniard Paula Badosa, the No 9 seed, 6-4, 6-3 to move into the last 16 of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Tuesday evening.
Anisimova, ranked No 41, will play Canadian Leylah Fernandez next.
The American won against Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Qatar tournament.
In the previous round of the Qatar tournament, Badosa, ranked No 10, won against Mexican lucky loser Renata Zarazua (6-3, 4-6, 6-2).
