Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova reached the quarter-finals of the Prague Open by edging out Chinese Xiyu Wang 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6) at TK Sparta Praha on Thursday afternoon.
Schmiedlova, ranked No 82, will face the winner of the match between Indian lucky loser Ankita Raina and No 4 seed Linda Noskova next.
The Slovak defeated Romanian Patricia Maria Tig (6-2, 6-2) in the previous round of the Prague tournament.
During the round of 32 of the Prague tournament, Wang, ranked No 81, won against Dane Clara Tauson (6-3, 6-2).
