Prague Open: Noskova books spot in last 8
Linda Noskova edged out Alize Cornet 7-5, 1-6, 7-6 (7) on Thursday evening. She’ll face Japanese lucky loser Nao Hibino in the next round
Czech wildcard Linda Noskova advanced to the quarter-finals of the Prague Open by edging out Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 5 seed, 7-5, 1-6, 7-6 (7) at TK Sparta Praha on Thursday evening.
Noskova, ranked No 112, will play Japanese lucky loser Nao Hibino next.
The 17-year-old Czech benefited from the abandonment of Russian lucky loser Natalia Vikhlyantseva (6-2, 3-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Cornet, ranked No 38, defeated Russian qualifier Anastasia Zakharova (6-2, 6-3).
