Pole Magda Linette won against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova 6-3, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the Prague Open at TK Sparta Praha on Wednesday.
Linette, ranked No 68, will face the winner of the match between Chinese qualifier Qiang Wang and Slovenian qualifier Dalila Jakupovic next.
In the previous round, the Pole beat Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 3 seed (6-3, 2-6, 6-2).
Tomova, ranked No 110, won against Ukrainian Daria Snigur (6-4, 6-2) during the first round.
