Prague Open: Korpatsch books spot in last four, knocks out sixth seed Cornet

German qualifier Tamara Korpatsch won against Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 6 seed, 7-6 (3), 6-1 to reach the last 4 of the Prague Open at TK Sparta Praha on Friday afternoon.
Korpatsch, ranked No 99, will play the winner of the match between Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova and No 4 seed Linda Noskova next.
The German defeated Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (6-2, 6-4) and Belgian Yanina Wickmayer (4-0 ret.) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Prague tournament, Cornet, ranked No 65, beat wildcard Lucie Havlickova (6-2, 4-6, 6-2) and edged out Estonian Kaia Kanepi (7-6 (1), 5-7, 6-4).
