Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl, the No 8 seed, moved into the last eight of the Prague Open when German Jule Niemeier retired on Wednesday at TK Sparta Praha.
Baindl, ranked No 98, led 5-0 when Niemeier, ranked No 101, pulled out on Wednesday at TK Sparta Praha.
The Ukrainian will play the winner of the match between Romanian Jaqueline Cristian and Colombian qualifier Emiliana Arango next.
Kateryna Baindl won against qualifier Dayana Yastremska (6-4, 2-6, 6-2) in the previous round of the Prague tournament.
During the 32 of the Prague tournament, the German beat Heather Watson (6-2, 6-3).
