Slovenia Open: Siniakova through to semis
Katerina Siniakova edged out Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (5) on Saturday and will face German qualifier Anna-Lena Friedsam for a place in the final
Czech Katerina Siniakova reached the last four of the Slovenia Open by edging out defending champion Jasmine Paolini of Italy 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (5) at Tennis Arena Portoroz on Saturday.
Siniakova, ranked No 82, will play German qualifier Anna-Lena Friedsam for a place in the final.
The Czech beat Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 4 seed (6-1, 6-4) and Jodie Burrage (7-5, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Paolini, ranked No 55, won against Croat qualifier Tara Wurth (7-5, 6-1) and edged out Slovenian Kaja Juvan (5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (5)).
