Slovenia Open: Paolini advances to quarter-finals
Jasmine Paolini edged out Kaja Juvan 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (5) on Thursday evening and will play Czech Katerina Siniakova in the next round
Italian Jasmine Paolini advanced to the last eight of the Slovenia Open by edging out Slovenian Kaja Juvan 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (5) at Tennis Arena Portoroz on Thursday evening.
Paolini, ranked No 55, will play Czech Katerina Siniakova next.
In the previous round, the Italian won against Croat qualifier Tara Wurth (7-5, 6-1).
Juvan, ranked No 72, beat Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 6 seed (7-6 (5), 6-3, 0-0) in the previous round.
