Latvian Darja Semenistaja, the No 3 seed, defeated Pole qualifier Urszula Radwanska 6-4, 6-3 to reach the last eight of the Polish Open on Wednesday.
Semenistaja, ranked No 141, will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Zarina Diyas and Pole Maja Chwalinska next.
In the previous round, the 21-year-old Latvian benefited from the abandonment of Pole Katarzyna Kawa (7-6 (4)).
Radwanska, ranked No 423, won against Frenchwoman Audrey Albie (2-6, 6-0, 6-2) during the 32.
