Poland Open: Wickmayer makes quarter-finals

Belgian Yanina Wickmayer won against Tereza Martincova (6-2, 6-2) to advance to the last eight of the Poland Open at the Legia Tennis Centre in Warsaw on Wednesday.
Wickmayer, ranked No 109, will now play the winner of the match between Heather Watson and Belarusian qualifier Yuliya Hatouka next.
Ahead of her victory, the 33-year-old Belgian defeated Japanese Nao Hibino (6-2, 6-4).
Martincova, ranked No 107, beat Chinese Shuai Zhang, the No 5 seed (7-6 (3), 6-4) in the previous round of the Warsaw tournament.
