Muchova squanders 5-1 lead, misses four match points as she loses to Sramkova in Warsaw quarters

Slovak qualifier Rebecca Sramkova edged out second seed Karolina Muchova 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Poland Open at the Legia Tennis Centre in Warsaw on Thursday.
Sramkova, ranked No 174, will face German Tatjana Maria next. Muchova led 5-1, 40-15 in the final set and then missed two more match points as Sramkova roared back for a famous win.

The Slovak defeated Pole wildcard Weronika Ewald (6-2, 6-2) in the previous round of the Warsaw tournament.
In the previous round of the Warsaw tournament, Muchova, ranked No 18, won against Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich (4-6, 7-6, 6-3), bu even then, she showed vulnerability when she led 5-1 in the opening set and lost it 6-4.
