Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 10 seed, beat Frenchwoman Clara Burel 6-1, 6-7 (1), 6-0 to advance to the last eight of the Poland Open at Legia Tenis & Golf in Warsaw on Thursday.
Paolini, ranked No 58, will face the winner of the match between Swiss Viktorija Golubic and Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic next.
The Italian won against Montenegrin Danka Kovinic (6-1, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Burel, ranked No 131, won against Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (7-6 (5), 6-1).
